Black Bean Burger Recipe

Alpha Gal Friendly Black Bean Burger

Easy and deliciously satisfying black bean burgers.

  • 2 14 oz canned black beans
  • 1 TBS olive oil (extra virgin)
  • 1 tsp olive oil (for sautéing)
  • 1/2 bell pepper (chopped)
  • 1/2 onion (chopped)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 cup oat flour (or bread crumbs)
  • 2 lrg eggs
  • 2 Tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1/4 tsp salt (optional)
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees

  2. Spread [wprm-ingredient text=”2 14 oz canned black beans” uid=”0″] on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet and bake for 15-20 minuets. Until slightly dried out.

  4. Then set aside to cool

  5. Combine [wprm-ingredient text=”1 1/2 tsp cumin<wprm-ingredient uid="6" removed="0">” uid=”5″], [wprm-ingredient text=”1/2 tsp garlic powder” uid=”6″],[wprm-ingredient text=”1 tsp chili powder” uid=”7″],[wprm-ingredient text=”1/4 tsp smoked paprika” uid=”8″],[wprm-ingredient text=”1/4 tsp salt” uid=”12″] in a small dish

  6. Preheat oven to 375 degrees if baking

  7. In a large bowl or food processor, combine the dry beans, [wprm-ingredient text=”2 lrg eggs” uid=”10″], [wprm-ingredient text=”1 TBS olive oil” uid=”1″], [wprm-ingredient text=”1/2 cup oat flour” uid=”9″],[wprm-ingredient text=”2 Tbsp mayonnaise” uid=”11″], and seasonings. Either mash with fork or pulse in food process to combine but try to leave some larger pieces of beans.

  8. Form 6 1/2 cup patties

  9. Place patties on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet and bake for 20 minuets, turning over at 10 minuets.

    or place in a non stick skillet and cook for apox 5 mins per side

    Internal temperature should be 160 degrees.

    *or place on parchment paper in the freezer until frozen, then put them in a freezer safe container or plastic bag (with parchment paper to separate them)for up to 3 months.
